Named Funds – giving your way
A Named Fund is a unique vehicle for charitable giving, allowing businesses and individuals to give back to local communities and make a genuine and positive impact.
You can open a Named Fund with a single tax-deductible contribution. We invest and manage your Fund, helping you to direct grants to charities and community projectsthat match your value. Think of it as a charitable bank account or a cost saving alternative to establishing your own Charity, Foundation or Trust. Your Named Fund can remain anonymous, or you may wish to name it after your family or business, or honour the memory of a loved one. Whatever you choose to name your Fund, there are a range of flexible options to choose from:
- Immediate Impact Fund: A simple, straightforward way to direct your giving – minimum investment of £25,000.
- Endowment Fund: A permanent charitable Fund through which grants are made solely from the investment returns – minimum investment of £50,000.
- Hybrid Fund: Build a substantial endowment Fund over time, whilst making grants immediately and on an ongoing annual basis – minimum investment of £25,000.
- Memorial Fund: A Fund to honour a loved one, with no minimum initial contribution – you can distribute grants when your fund reaches £10,000.
Northern Gas Networks
In 2016 Northern Gas Networks set up an immediate impact fund of £50,000 to support groups who were: developing innovative approaches to helping to alleviate hardship and other challenges associated with fuel poverty, educating around energy efficiency ideas and raising awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Tom Bell, Head of Social Strategy at Northern Gas Networks, said: “I’m delighted to announce that we will, once again, be working in partnership with Leeds Community Foundation to support charities and local community groups across our network.
“Last year we received such a diverse range of ideas and innovative projects and it was a pleasure to see some of the great work that’s done within communities. I’m very much looking forward to again working with the successful organisations on their exciting projects.”
